He Ashley L. Alford's middle name was most likey Levi. There is a Ashley L. Alford who was born on 6 Aug 1885 who registered for the draft during World War I. This could have been the son or a namesake of the Ashley L. Alford presented here. There is an obituary from the Horry Herald that puts the date of death at 18 Apr 1909 and his age at 67. This would make my original estimation of his birth off by 10 years. This is possible, but I still believe this is the correct person and the date of death is apparently off. I doubt the 1850, 1860, and 1880 Census records could have been so far off at such and early age. |
