Moses Race Sr. was born circa 1781 at Loudoun County, Virginia, US.3,4,5 He was the son of (?) Race. Moses Race Sr. was Tombstone Bus. He married Mary Tomlin, daughter of Jacob Michael Tomlin and Elizabeth (?), on 2 February 1802 at Chesterfield County, Virginia, US; The actual county could have been Loudoun County. There are other marriage records dealing with RACE names which could be relatives. There is a Charity Race that married Michael Kelly on December 20, 1796 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Also a Elizabeth Race that married James Seaton on October 20, 1799 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Potentially, these could be Moses sisters. There is a John Race who married Ellen Williams on September 9, 1803 in Chesterfield County.6,7,8,9 Moses Race Sr. Moses Race servied in William Dunlap's Company, which was probably from Highland County. In 1812 at Highland County, Ohio, US.10 He died on 6 July 1863 at Pendleton County, Kentucky, US; A suit against his estate for nursing care noted his death as being in May 1863.3,11,4,12 He was buried after 6 July 1863 at Knoxville Cemetery, Falmouth, Pendleton County, Kentucky, US; Knoxville Cemetery is just outside Falmouth.13,4,14 He Moses went from Maryland to Virginia, to Brown County, Ohio and on to Pendleton County, Kentucky. He There is also a report that one of Moses Race's daughters married a Major Abraham G. Wileman. He served in Company D, 18th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. Major Wileman was murdered by Confederate sympathizers in Knoxville, Kentucky in Oct 1863. I mention all of this here under Moses Race because I have yet to identify which daughter this information relates too.15

Race, on 2 February 1802 at Chesterfield County, Virginia, US; The actual county could have been Loudoun County. There are other marriage records dealing with RACE names which could be relatives. There is a Charity Race that married Michael Kelly on December 20, 1796 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Also a Elizabeth Race that married James Seaton on October 20, 1799 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Potentially, these could be Moses sisters. John James Alexander Race was also known as John James Alexander Race. He was born on 10 February 1864 at Kentucky, US.1 He was Farmer. He was the son of William Alexander Race and Nancy Catherine Scroggin. John James Alexander Race appeared on the census of 23 June 1870 at Williamstown, Grant County, Kentucky, US. He appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 at Pendleton County, Kentucky, US. He married Levonia Simmons, daughter of Oliver M. Simmons and Leonora Race, on 28 September 1892 at Pendleton County, Kentucky, US. John James Alexander Race appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 at Stewartsville, Grant County, Kentucky, US. He died in February 1922 at Brookville, Franklin County, Indiana, US. He grew Tobacco and is credited with being the first Tobacco farmer in Indiana. He supposedly brought it with him from Kentucky. John J. Race is said to have been a very stubborn man. An old story about John James Race is that he broke his hip one day while on some ice. He had to use crutches to get around. The story says that he "draged his leg around for 2 years until he eventually died."
